Your Check Bounced
This last small claims case is against a homeowner named Marcos Pichardo, who failed to pay an amount due of 400 dollars, when Smith HVAC installed two split system AC units
in this persons home.  The homeowner (Marcos Pichardo) decided to remove the P-Traps and Condensate Pumps from both AC units and install his own hose drains on his AC units, prior to Smith HVAC finishing the job. This automatically voids any warranty, however we still returned five times to correct this issue.
On many AC systems, a  negative pressure is created inside the air handler. Without a condensate trap, ac condensation can be prevented from draining throught the air conditioning drain because air is being drawn in through the drain opening. A
P-trap collects condensate from the drain pan in the trap and prevents air from being
drawn in through the drain opening. Even if the air conditioner drains into a  condensate pump you still should have a trap installed.
All all technitians learn the above information in school. For the layman, the above information was collected at http//www.ac-central.com/ptrap.php. The last issue the homeowner raised is
we didn't provide him with a box of filters. Smith HVAC and drafting only provides one filter (installed with the unit). any additional filters must be purchased by the homeowner. Thousands of filter companies can be found on the internet
even for custom made odd size filters.
